Yesterday my mom, cousins and I went to Parkville for a girls day out. We seriously had a blast! Our last stop was this big antique mall. The last place you'd expect to see something hinky, am I right? My cousin Missy was boggling about all the Mammy stuff, until she saw a honest-to-god Little Sambo figurine. That did it! Hoo-boy. Right then the camera phones came out and a quest to find the most offensive thing in the place was on.

Little did we know...

While wandering around we found a set of NOEL candle holders that some joker had rearranged to say LEON. That has us giggling for a minute. But the very best was yet to come! :::sniker:::

While looking at some overpriced Art Nuveo (Nevou? Ack! That stuff that was popular in the 20's) I glanced up to see a figure of a women getting oral pleasure from another woman.

Oh, my.

I point it out to Missy who, of course shared my exclamation with slightly more volume. Which alerted Donna who came over and shared our exclamation with even more volume, which alerted my mother who came over and was struck speechless. Everyone had verified that it was indeed a beautifully crafted bronze sculpture of woman on her back with another woman kneeling at her feet with her face buried quite clearly in her crotch.

It's $12,000.

Many snap shoots were taken from every possible angle. The possibilities of buying said figure were discussed. (We could all chip in and take turns displaying it!) Exclamations of how unexpected finding such a thing in a building full of innocent Americana were shared and the day ended with a bang.

We are thinking an afternoon in Brookside next time.
