I tried to watch From Here to Eternity this weekend. I only got halfway through before the emo got to me.

First Emo movie evar!

I'm still on the Trainer track at work. My boss is even going to try and get me a raise.

Whoa.

I did finally watch Milk. Now, that is a pretty good movie. But I always wonder about movies based on real events. How much of it was true? How much of it was for drama? How did the Lesbian get 3 kids? Did she adopt/donor or did she "go straight"? Speaking of, why are there so many straight actors in it? Is it hard to find good gay actors in Hollywood? I doubt it.

Once the Hubby gets home, I have to do some OT. Big bummer! Vista doesn't work with VPN! Stupid Vista.

I think we are going to switch from directv to dish network and get all of the movie channels so I can get back into my movie groove. It will still be cheaper than what we pay now.

Naw, all of this was Netflix! It beats the crap out of cable any day of the week. We've got on-demand Netflix through X-Box. Best investment we've made.

We can't get cable where we live, we have to have a dish. I have thought of getting something like netflix, just not sure how much we would use it. I guess if there was a movie here we would watch it, I never want to go out and get one.

It's hard to believe...

Well, we'll try to find a good time to get together with you three to share some cake and/or just open little present.

Almost everything you saw up there really happened. They did heighten some of it (there really wasn't that much tension about Prop 8 or 6 or whatever # it was), but even little things, like the kid in the wheelchair who called from MN- that really happened. Harvey himself was a bit larger than life & he was living in a time when people still thought that activism could change things. So, they were activists & they DID change things. It seems naive to us now, but then it also seems inconceivable to us that Dan White could be convicted of manslaughter rather than murder.

So she went the donor route? I was just curious.

Ever since The Perfect Storm, I've been skeptical about "Based on a True Story" movies. (They all died! How could anyone know what happened on the boat?)

I don't even remember a lesbian w/ 3 children in the movie. The only lesbian I clearly recall was his campaign manager, whose life is very well documented. Where was she in the story?

It was the campaign manager! In the "where are they now" closing bit they mentioned that she has 3 kids.

She's another hero of the movement, Anne Kronenberg.
