bghsmithFrom the time I was 7 until I was 13 I lived in Colonial Square Homes. They are the townhouses off 35 & Parvin Rd. My best friend was a girl named Sherry.
Sherry had a little brother named Mat and a baby sister named Lisa.
A few months back, I had a woman in the class I was training named Liesa. I just found out today, after all these months, that Liesa is Sherry's baby sister! Holy shit. She sent a text to Mat who remembers me as the girl with the gingham elephants. I remember him as the obnoxious little shit who Sherry was always yelling at and beating up.
I remember when he got a skateboard. It was one of those old, narrow plastic ones. He was afraid to get on it, so I got on it instead. I barely got both feet on the thing when it flew out from under me and I landed flat on my ass. Liesa claims they still have that board at the townhouse.
Sherry and I would play Barbies and have several of the other neighborhood kids watching the 'show' we put on. We would also play with the gingham elephants. Sherry's favorite was the green one named Marsha.
Liesa is going to call Sherry (who works with disadvantaged kids in Warrensburg) when she get off work.
