bghsmithThree weeks ago, my check card went missing. I canceled it before anything 'bad' happened. All seems well. I find out I have to go the bank personally to get a new one. I lost it on a Monday, so I had to wait until Saturday to go in. Slight pain, but no biggie.
I go in and fill out the affidavit and find out it will take 2 weeks to replace! Now, I've had to use checks for the 2 weeks and had one incident at the gas station where my check wouldn't go through. It was an auto-debit, so I just blamed it on the hold. I went to the bank and wrote a check for cash with no issues and went back to the store.
Two weeks later I get my replacement card. I try to activate it and the auto system won't accept my pin number. ARGH! The replacement card came on a Monday. Friday I finally get my new PIN number in the mail. The card activates, I use the damn thing and all is well.
THEN I find out my credit card is canceled! WHAT?!?!?!?
Turns out that JP Morgan/Chase canceled EVERY CARD that they bought from WaMu. First, they raise my interest rate by 16%. No, not TO 16% but added 16% MORE interest to my existing rate. THEN they cancel the damn thing. Fuckers! A quick internet search shows that WaMu card holder across the board are getting their new Chase cards canceled wholesale. Chase is blaming it on Experian, but a quick check with them shows that Chase has not asked for any credit scores.
